Re: Notice of Annual Meeting- Agenda packet Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 7:00 p.m., virtually via Zoom

    Dear Homeowner;

The Annual Meeting of the Valley Oaks Homeowners Association, Inc. will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Due to continued pandemic conditions this year’s meeting will be held virtually via the meeting platform Zoom. The Association is a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of Texas and, as such, is required to hold an Annual Meeting. The meeting has been called by the Board of Directors for the purpose of reviewing the Association’s operational and financial activity over the past year and addressing any new business brought before the Association.

There will not be any new board member elections this year due to elections being held at the 2021 annual meeting and no board terms coming due for re-election. There will be a vote taken on agenda item V regarding carports. Additional information will be sent to all homeowners regarding this agenda item closer to the meeting date.

In order for this meeting to meet all state requirements a quorum of Board Members is required. For any proposed changes to be accepted to the By-Laws of the Association a quorum of homeowners must be present at the meeting. A quorum for our Association is 54 homeowners. Should we not reach a quorum on the March 1 meeting we will notify homeowners of a second meeting attempt along with proxy voting options.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Should you have any questions regarding the Annual Meeting or your Association, please feel free to contact me at 214-616-8741 or via e-mail at jr01d18@verizon.net.

    Sincerely,

    Carmen Palmer

The City of Lewisville is asking residents to take a short survey to provide input as it considers improvements to the curbside recycling program.

Potential changes to the current curbside recycling program would address contamination issues, extend the life of landfills, reduce the waste stream, and maintain cost efficiency for the City and residents.

Link to four-question survey. The survey takes about one minute to complete

You may have seen a sign at either end of Valley Oaks Dr recently that reads.

    NOTICE

    ENFORCEMENT PROJECT

    BEGINS NEXT MONDAY

The posted notice is to inform residents that the following week, the Lewisville Police Department, in partnership with the Code Enforcement Division, will enforce all Texas Transportation Code and Lewisville City Ordinances.

The Lewisville Police Department has started a new neighborhood alley speed enforcement program in response to growing resident concerns.

Under the Mass Alleyway Speed Enforcement program, officers are sent to random neighborhoods once a month to patrol. Their priority is to monitor drivers in alleyways, but they’ll also be keeping tabs on traffic on the main streets. This is done as part of normal traffic unit functions.

By City ordinance, the maximum speed limit in any alley within the limits of the city is 10 mph.

LPD conducted its first Mass Alleyway Speed Enforcement patrol earlier this month. On that day, 12 drivers received citations for speeding and 11 others received warnings. The amount of the fine for speeding in an alley is based on how much over the limit the driver is going.

Lewisville voters will return to the polls on Saturday, May 1, to consider four proposed City Charter amendments, including one that would increase the size of the City Council upon annexation of Castle Hills.

Early voting starts Monday, April 19 and will continue through Tuesday, April 27. Election Day voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 1.
