Dear Homeowner;

The Annual Meeting of the Valley Oaks Homeowners Association, Inc. will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at the Lewisville Public Library (Crawford Room) . This year’s meeting will be held exclusively in-person, no Zoom option will be available. PLEASE NOTE: This is a rescheduled date, the original meeting date has been canceled due to the need of the board to adjust the agenda for this meeting.

The Association is a non-profit corporation chartered under the laws of the State of Texas and, as such, is required to hold an Annual Meeting. The meeting has been called by the Board of Directors for the purpose of reviewing the Association’s operational and financial activity over the past year and addressing any new business brought before the Association.

At this meeting the board will be calling for a vote for the consideration and approval of an increase to the annual homeowner dues by members of the association. The increase proposed is raising the dues from $74 to $100. This increase is needed due to cover escalating costs for the association for operational necessities such as the website/membership management tool, insurance and storage fees. Due to the recently passed amendments to the covenant this increase may be voted on at a called meeting and requires only a majority vote of those in attendance at the meeting. Not a quorum of all homeowners.

There are several vacancies currently on the Board of Directors for the Association. Nominations and a vote will be taken to fill these positions at the Annual Meeting as well. The Association is in need of help from more homeowners to make management of the business of the Association more reasonable for all board members. Please consider nominating a neighbor you know could do a good job or volunteering yourself.

The board welcomes homeowners to bring new business ideas, thoughts or concerns up at the appropriate point of the meeting per the agenda for this meeting, but please note that any new business brought to the board at this meeting will only be recorded for possible consideration at a future homeowners meeting. No votes or action will be taken until the business matter is properly researched and presented as an agenda item at a posted future homeowner meeting.
